Our Future Plans

Having prioritised our work for the next five years we are now in a position to establish our aims and look at the implications

STRATEGIC AIMS .

It is our intention to refurbish the Youthcom premises in Berry Street, Belfast, in partnership with the Down and Connor Youth Commission, to satisfy the needs of both organisations.
It is our intention to recruit and train a suitable volunteer force, which will service the needs of the organisation
It is our intention to expand, develop and make self-sufficient all the association’s services.

IMPLICATIONS

Premises - a fundraising strategy for major refurbishment needs to be put in place. We need to raise £750,000 to ensure the building is state of the art, to cater for the young people who will be using it. You could help us by contributing to our funds, joining our Association, or helping organise a fund-raising event.
Volunteer Base - we need to increase the number of volunteers involved in the Association. As our work continues to expand, so we need more people to work with the youth, to do administration, to raise funds and to act as drivers. Click here for details on how you could volunteer.
Recruitment, Education & Training - recognising that government agencies are channelling funds into school based drugs and alcohol education, and we should avoid duplication. We know that our particular message needs to be delivered but we need to find another way. We will therefore restructure our education programme. If you have a background in education or training, you could help us in this process. Contact our office for more details.
Trusteeship -as the extent of our ownership of property increases trusteeship is essential. If you have expertise or experience in this area, we would like to hear from you.
